At application's launch, the "Choose..." button is set as the default button. Running 10.2.8 on two different machines, all is well. Running 10.3.4 on several different machines, however, results each time in a black square surrounding the button.
The two screenshots below represent the main window of the application at launch time. The button is presently set to be the default button from InterfaceBuilder. (Results were no different when set programmatically.)

Unfortunately, I have access only to one machine running 10.2.8. It will be very difficult for me to get hold of another to debug the code. (To be quite candid, money is a little tight right now, and I'd rather hold off on buying Panther.)
Any insight as to what may be causing this would be a great help.

Note: This issue was originally posted as "Default button background black for dual G5, not single G4" on 07.26.04. I have since been fortunate enough to narrow down the problem through the help of a beta tester.
